Santander Bank, N.A. (“Santander Bank,”) announced the opening of a new branch in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the neighborhood of Sharswood, located at 2077 Ridge Avenue. To commemorate the new location, Santander leaders recently joined community partners and customers at a grand opening celebration, which included a $100,000 contribution from the Bank to the Temple University Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
“We’re thrilled to bring Santander to even more customers in the Philadelphia area with the opening of this branch, which is located in a newly built development in the vibrant neighborhood of Sharswood. We look forward to serving existing and new customers at this location as well as establish new connections across the community.”
Angela Moultrie
Santander Bank Mid-Atlantic Region President
The branch boasts a collaborative and welcoming environment with several spaces for customers to interact with the branch team and meet privately with bankers to discuss their financial needs. Amenities include free Wi-Fi for customers, a dual-function digital screen that can be utilized for educational content and two ATMs–one inside and one walk-up on the exterior of the building that offers 24-hour ATM availability, allowing customers to bank any time.
As part of its support for small businesses, Santander Bank presented a $100,000 check to the Temple SBDC during the grand opening celebration for their recruitment efforts on Santander’s Cultivate Small Business Program. The Temple University SBDC has been serving Philadelphia-area small businesses for almost 40 years, and on behalf of the university, provides no-cost business services and solutions to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Since 2020, Santander Bank has provided a total of over $4.3 million in funding to Philadelphia non-profit organizations and its employees have volunteered more than 3,000 service hours across the city.
“Santander recently launched its Community Plan, which is a $13.6 billion three-year commitment to invest in the communities where we live and work.” added Moultrie. “It’s always a pleasure when we get to see our commitments come to life when we gather to celebrate and recognize our community partners who share in our mission to help people and businesses prosper.”
The opening of the Sharswood branch also furthers Santander Bank’s commitment to build new retail branches in low-to-moderate income communities and communities of color to help individuals build wealth and neighborhoods grow their economies.
