Banco Santander renews its commitment to female leadership with the launch of the 14th edition of the Santander Course | SW50 Leadership Programme 2024 – LSE, an exclusive training programme for 50 women in senior management positions, taught by the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

The course is aimed at women residing in 11 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uruguay) and involves face-to-face training at the facilities of the prestigious LSE. Since it was first launched, more than 750 women have participated in 13 editions of Santander W50.

Throughout the course, which also includes accommodation in London, participants will draw up and analyse their own leadership idea and will be able to access exclusive training on global leadership style, characteristics and techniques. They will gain access to high-impact conferences and individual and group coaching sessions, as well as be able to share experiences about their professional careers and build their international network.

“A consolidated and successful programme such as Santander W50 reflects the commitment of the bank and its dedication to female leadership. To do this, we continue to rely on training as the main lever, which is consolidated even more by a partner like LSE, who we have worked with for many years.”

Rafael Hernández
Deputy Global Head of Santander Universities

Phil Carter, Associate Director of Executive Education at the LSE, added “we are immensely proud of our continuing relationship with Banco Santander to deliver this important programme, addressing the needs of women in senior management positions. Each year, we are hugely impressed by the quality and diversity of applicants, and we look forward to welcoming the 2024 cohort who we are sure will uphold this tradition of excellence.”

The programme is structured in three phases: an initial online session where the 50 participants, professors and mentors will introduce themselves; the main phase, a week delivered in person in London at LSE’s central London campus; and a third phase at the end of the course involving an online session where participants will present their individual development plan to the group of professors.

Applications can be submitted at Santander Open Academy until 13 March 2024.

Banco Santander steps up its commitment to education and employability by launching a call for applications for these programmes, hand in hand with prestigious international institutions. Santander Open Academy is a global learning and professional development platform that offers access to training to improve professional skills and employability with 100% subsidised courses, high-quality free content and scholarships with leading universities and institutions around the world, which are updated depending on which skills are most highly sought after in the market at any given time.
